My Photography Journey

My journey started the day I bought my first Canon camera, July 2011. I had just spent the previous 3 years as an ICU nurse and had just started my family. Having my son, Tommy, was the most pivotal moment in my life and I knew I did not want to miss anymore nights, weekends or holidays with my family.


The rest is history. I dove into learning every single thing about my camera. I never used auto mode, I went straight to manual mode. I jumped at the chance to get anyone in front of my camera.


I learned that feeding my creativity allowed me to thrive and be my best. It was an outlet for my mind that never stopped. Photography allowed me to be in control of my schedule, and my destiny.


Two years into owning my first camera I gave up what I was my dream career as a nurse. I now have 10 years of solely relying on my photography business to support my family. It hasn't always been easy, but it has, without a doubt, been 100% worth it.

Why Work with Me

I think one of the most unique things about me is that I am still a family photographer. My photography business is just as important to me as my presets and coaching. This allows me to relate to you on a level that many can not.


I am in the trenches of this business with you and I understand the trends and obstacles that today's photographers face. In my third year of growing my business I moved to a state where I knew no one. I started my business completely from the bottom. I now have 2 associate photographers and a presence in both Nebraska and Iowa.


The absolute best thing abou this workshop is that I will share REAL life family sessions each and every month. You get to see, from start to finish, how I interact with different types of everyday families. You get to learn from my years of experience.

OUR STORY

Owner of Lemon and Lace Presets

Hey there! I'm thrilled to have you here. I'm a proud mom to five amazing kids and a lucky wife to an incredible partner.

 


Almost 13 years ago, I embarked on an exciting journey as the founder of Lemon and Lace Studios, my very own photography business. Back then, I was an ICU nurse, but my heart yearned for the path of a business owner and entrepreneur. My days as a nurse have set the best foundation I could have ever of asked for as it taught me life is short, focus on what truly matters and compassion and kindness always win.

In 2016 I launched Lemon and Lace Presets as it was my goal to bring affordable presets to photographers at a value that cannont be beat.. I've learned so much along the way, and I can't wait to share my knowledge and expertise with you.

 


Passion drives me, whether it's capturing beautiful moments through my lens or staying active and creating new things. I'm all about embracing life with enthusiasm and spreading positive vibes.
